Wedding Tip Thursday! Cleaning up After the Ceremony

It’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings…so, what about after it’s over? After all the planning, after the ceremony, after the reception – there is one final step. Someone needs to be responsible for taking home all your stuff. And by stuff, I mean items such as the: guest book, toasting goblets, cake cutting utensils, card box, left over favors, and of course the gifts! I strongly encourage you to take the time to make a list of anything you will want taken home the night of the wedding. Supply this list to your wedding planner, the event location coordinator and of course, the person who will be taking the items home. Choosing this person can be difficult. They need to be willing to stay until the VERY end of the night after the reception is over. They also need to be, well, sober – and have a vehicle large enough to take all your items home. A lot of couples will choose their parents but if you have another option, it’s nice to have your folks just relax at the end of the night. The key is to plan in advance for this and make certain you communicate the request and provide the list of items. You’ll be able to enjoy your send off with the confidence that all is taken care of…even when it’s over.
